Some wonderful construction trade students at Gilmer Intermediate gifted the library with a fabulous reading bench! I am so excited for students to come and enjoy reading on this hand crafted bench!! Special thanks to Mr. Massey!!!!

6th Grade Virtual Tour

Sixth grade students spent a class period discovering Ellis Island using an online virtual tour.  They are preparing for an inquiry and discovery unit over immigration.  They will read the novel Letters From Rifka along with their research.  The virtual tour provided an overview of Ellis Island, as well as primary sources such as interviews with immigrants who made the journey to America many years ago.
